The bout, initially set for September 11, was supposed to headline a ProBox TV event. Martinez, who boasts an impressive record of 18-0 with 15 knockouts, was expected to take on James, who holds a record of 9-0-2 with 5 knockouts. However, on the day of the fight, Martinez took to social media to announce that he was pulling out due to health issues, without going into detail. “Friends, I will not be fighting today due to health problems. Thank you all for your support,” he wrote. At that time, Brunch Boxing sources indicated that the Guatemalan fighter was suffering from migraines, although this was never officially confirmed.
The bout was later rescheduled for November 9, again to be featured on ProBox TV. But fans were left disappointed when the fight was quietly removed from the schedule, with no official explanation from the promotion or the fighters’ camps. It remains unclear whether Martinez’s current health concerns stem from the same illness that postponed the initial September bout or if a new issue has arisen.

As of now, there is no word on when or if the bout between Martinez and James will be rescheduled, leaving James eagerly awaiting updates.
Martinez, a rising star in the super middleweight division, last fought on June 28, where he delivered an impressive unanimous decision victory over seasoned contender Carlos Gongora. The fight solidified his status as a serious contender in the division.
Meanwhile, Joeshon James has also been building momentum in his career. His last outing saw him defeat Vaughn Alexander via unanimous decision on February 16, following a stunning first-round knockout of David Stevens in October 2023.
